Good news for all you people in Europe, Filter Optix is a new, high end blue light blocking glasses company based in Norway.

For this review, I got the Acero frames.

I will start off by saying that yes, these are expensive glasses but I think they might be my new favorite red lens blue blockers (or at least tied for first place).

The acetate frames seem very well made and have some weight to them.

The lenses are thick and have an anti-reflective coating that reduces light reflection on both sides of the lens.

This is a red lens but it is not a full powered red lens.

Let me tell you why I like this...

Most of the red lens blue and green light blocking glasses are a darker red and block all the way up to 570nm which means they knock out all blue and green light. The bad thing about this is that it makes it harder to see.

The Filter Optix red lens glasses block up to around 550nm which makes it a little easier to see and therefore wear regularly shortly after it gets dark. They block all of the blue light and the vast majority of green light which will protect your circadian rhythm and melatonin levels.

Depending on my light environment, I usually wear an orange lens early in the night then switch to the darker red lens an hour or so before bed. But with these red lenses, I can just leave them on all night and forget about wearing the orange lenses.

THESE GLASSES ARE FULL STRENGTH BLUE BLOCKERS FOR NIGHTTIME USE ONLY. Do not wear them during the day.

Here is what the light in the room looks like on the spectrometer before you put these blue and green light blocking glasses on.....you can see lots of blue and green which is NOT good at night.

And here is what the light spectrum looks like after you put the Filter Optix red lens on. You can see that all the blue and the vast majority of the green are gone. This is exactly what you want at night because blue and green from artificial lights and screens is the most circadian disrupting and melatonin suppressing light.
